When I mounted the clutch operating cylinder there was a little bit of fluid running down the rubber boot. Behind the boot was a little blob of silvery paste. The cylinder is not very old, the bleeder screw isn't even rusty, but it appears to be failing.
My first inclination is to rebuild, that way I know what I've got. What do you think, new, rebuilt, rebuild ?
BTW the clutch master cylinder was filled with some sort of gray goop. Never a good sign, but with a newish slave cylinder it seemed really odd. The cap is the same thread as the Ate dual brake master, so the brake bleeder hooks right up.
Anyway, what have you had the best results with - new, rebuilt, rebuilding ?
