No beating, but counter-rant 120-130 1967

Slave cylinder inside transmission? Wow!

OD, I've also read you rant about interference engines. The key to making a rubber timing belt interference engine last is simple. Change the belt and/or tensioners on time or early! A lot of people don't. That is when they run into trouble. For example: 1988 VW Jetta sold at 281k, 1995 Volvo 850 - 251k, 2002 VW Passat- 165k. What my cars have in common is that all have rubber timing belts which were changed on time - No problems...:)

However, I did put 100k on my 90 240 timing belt (50k interval). Kept checking that sucker as I didn't want it to break and have it leave me stuck on the road. But it just kept going and going!!
