hi sages and fellow travelers- been off the forum for a while, but time to get back in the war. have a 92 245 wagon. been running it all around and having a good time. only downside remains getting foul gestures and cussed when im first in line at the light and launch the wagon especially from monster ford 150s with fat V8s. anyway heres my problem which I think arty b covered back in the 80s. temp gage very slow to operate , needle stays in bottom of its range most of the time. maybe after a a week or 2 it will move up to the middle. figure there is a risk here that I wont have early warning when engine is overheating when going fast through stinking creek md. where you cant outrun coppers with v8s. remember there was a common issue with a temp compensation board in the gage sensor which caused gage to go stinko like this. guessing dealer or indys would want $1k fix. wondering if it would be better and easier to install one of those stewart warner little round temp gages in the square next to the radio and wire it to the sender plug on the cylinder head or block. did that once in a 73 slantsix Plymouth and it worked fine. if you have had experience remediating this please give me your advice. thanks tons oldduke
