wheres my freon charger port?! A/C sucks! :( 88

my a/c was shot to the 7th ring before i bought this car, i took it to a mechanic friend of mine, he said that all the components are fairly intact, and hed check where and if the leak was, he searched high and low for the better part of an hour all over this car and could not find a freon "input" or what it is you can such a thing, its not on the back of the compressor like it ought to be, he also mentioned that the plate it is on might have been removed from the compressor for some unthinkable reason, so if the "input" is on the compressor ill obviously need a new one, or atleast this part, otherwise... where is the freon charger port?!

valuable info - 1988 240 DL

note - im not sure that any or all of these parts are new or aftermarket :(
