I have a 1990 Volvo 740. Over the last two years I've been
trying to solve a fuel pump problem. Intermittently the fuel
pump will quit working. I have replaced the fuel pump, fuel
pump relay and injection relays. (Several times) The car will
run great for a few Months then when I go to crank the car, nothing.
I can disconnect the fuel line and see that the pump is not pumping.
I've had it towed to the shop several times but everytime it cranks
right up after the Wrecker drops it off. They said the only thing
left is to replace the computer and that a rebuilt one will cost
$1500.00. I don't want to pay that much just to eliminate another
component unless I'm sure that it is the cause.
Any troubleshooting ideas would be appreciated.
