Heated Seat Switch(types) 700 1989

My question regards the types of heated seat switches used in 7-series cars, as I was at a salvage yard picking up some parts for which one of those parts was obviously a heated seat switch. But on closer inspection I noticed it had 3-modes or switch positions versus the simple 2-mode(on and off) positions on my current switch. Is the third mode used for rear heated seats, as I don't recall them ever putting rear heated seats in 7-series cars.
