Ignition Coil 200 81

One quick question for you Volvo lovers out there.

The ignition coil, (as you turn the key to accessory withought starting the car) does it pass power from the coil to the distributor. Then when you crank the motor the power then going to the spark plugs from the rotor spinning.

Or does the power start from the coil then when you crank the motor it goes to the distributor and then the spark plugs.
