I just got my 242 k-jetronic turbo intercooler together and started :)
but...
I think I am having problems with the vacuum advance.
At idle with about 20deg ignition advance everything is nice. But when i rev the engine only slightly, say to 2500rpm, the vacuum advance retards the ignition (less vacuum advance) to around -10deg spinning up the turbo and registering positive boost. Now this means the EGT must be through the roof to give boost at such low loads and the turbo probably would melt if I drove it like this.
So what do I do? If I put more advance on the ignition it will no longer idle so I'm guessing my only option is to disconnect the vacuum advance? Or does anyone know of a way to get less vacuum advance from the vacuum advance thingy on the distributor?
