Help. I finally removed the trigger points from my 1975 164E. Has anyone ever replaced these buggers? I have them right in front of me and they are tired looking and after 112K miles I'm guessing the cam lobes are worn. They are perfectly dry so oil is not a problem, the hot wires are somewhat geenish! I went on the net but no-one seems to list them, I may have to go to my local Volvo dealership and hope I get the right guy who is actually interested in getting out the micofiche. I dread the specia;rder to Sweden! My reason for pulling them is a problem I encountered 6 months ago and the car "came out of it". I would get ignition and then it would die. After cleaning and fiddling with every connection I could think of along with new rotor, cap, wires, plugs and coil, the car still didn't start until one day it suddenly did and then I got 6 months of driving with occasional bursts of poor performance by a couple of cylinders. The car always came out of it an now I'm back to erratic starting. I want to replace these contact triggers even if some of you think it may be something else. Where shall I go?....Thanks..PS I'm in Maine so junkyards and part stores are major ordeals to find, thank goodness for the internet suppliers.
