More charging system madness 140-160 1973

Here's the situation:

Driving home from the grocery in the rain. Wipers ve-e-e-ery slow, headlights dim, not enough juice for the blinkers. Made it home, battery's dead.

The amp light was not lit. SEV alternator has been recently rebuilt. Voltage regulator swapped for one thought to be good.

I have an el-cheapo multimeter and set of jumper cable.

How to proceed?
