Front shocks. I was warned. 200 1986

Well, I spent hours yesterday trying to get the shock out of the front strut assembly. Sometimes you actually do need the special tools! I could not remove the nut at the top of the shaft. This is the one that is inset about a half inch. If I had the special tools, or at least one of them, I'd have new shocks in my car.

Well, I was warned. I did not listen. And now all I have is regret for lost time. I guess the local shop will finally get some work from me.

Anyone in Portland have these tools (I think it's 5036 and 5037)? Anyone en-route via 90? :) I'll be going out west beginning Tuesday.
