Rebuilt Engines

I'm shopping around for a replacement rebuilt turbo engine for my '92 940. It suffered a catastrophic meltdown from a broken heater hose and an inattentive driver (teenage son). The car has 177K and is in very nice shape except that it doesn't run (no compression).

Volvo wants $2800 for a reman and offers a 12 month warranty. Advance auto sells a rebuilt for $2300 and it comes w/a 15 month/unlimited mileage warranty or a 36 month extended warranty for an extra $100. I called the company, Recon Automotive Reman, in Philly and they answered all my QA questions.

Does anybody have experience w/remanufactured Volvo turbo engines?
