I posted this to the 240 forum but this may be a 145 3rd seat so I will repeat it here for what it may be worth.

Hi,

After unloading a 1600cc VW motor from the back of our 1983 245 the mechanic noticed that I did not have a 3rd seat for my kids. He offered to give me the one from his long gone 1975 245. I accepted the free seat without hesitation.

When I brought it home it was filthy from spending 15 years on the shelf in his shop so I put soap and water to it and was surprised to find the seat in good condition. It is still attached to the wooden lid and came with seat belts as well as arms.

After studying the seat I beagn to wonder if it will really work in our 1983. All the third seats for 245s that I have seen look like the one pictured in this closed auction.

The seat that I have looks like the one pictured in the closed auction listed below but includes the arms, seatbelts, wooden lid to which it is attached and the mechanism the hinges the seat bottom to the seat back.

I am not certain that I can use the one I have in my 245. Does anyone have pictures of the older style installed in their car that could send pics of how it mounts to the body? Does anyone want to trade a correct seat for a 1983 245 the older style I have.
