I was thinking this morning about what contionually draws me to fix up and repair, at nearly any cost, my aging 240. She's an 89 wagon, with 210,000 miles, and I can't see myself ever giving up on her. I was lucky enough to get my car, which has spent its whole life in Massachusetts, from my parents, and they meticulously serviced the car, always at the dealer, for its first ten years of life. This Volvo was the car I drove in high school, and there was something about her that I always liked. Definately not the car on the typical high school kids wish list, but still, I always thought it would be a great car to own. A couple of years ago, when I moved to Michigan, my parents, having been converted to minivan owners, gave me the Volvo. So packed to the gills, I left for Ann Arbor, with my trusty old Volvo. Due to neccessity, when things started to break, I decided to try and fix somethings DIY. I stumbled upon the brickboard, and learned that there was this incredible network of entusiasts that shared the same love for 240s that I have. I've never seen a forum like this for any other car. So, I'm really grateful for this immense pool of knowledge that is at my fingertips 24/7.
