Steering rebuild tips? 140-160 1973

Next weekend I'm going to replace both steering rods, the center tie rod's ends and the idler arm bushing. My Haynes manual is pretty vague on this stuff -- doesn't even say whether the car should be jacked up or the wheels off. I assume yes on both counts. And of course a post-job alignment.

Will a pickle fork be all I need or should I get a ball joint puller?

How much should I expect to pay to have the idler arm bushing pressed?

Anything to look out for?

I've replaced the power rack on my 240 so this is not totally terra incognita.

Thanks,

Steve M.
