More Blower Motor Questions 200 1996

The blower motor on my 86 245 works only in the higher of the positions 3 and 4. I replaced the fan switch with no change. I can live with the fan the way it is. From what I have read fan motor replacement builds character and reduces your supply of single malt. Any thoughts.
