RADIATOR PROBLEM 700 1991

The top hose just blew off where it attaches to the radiator. The male flange on the radiator itself (that the hose attaches to) apparently broke off. This part of the radiator appears to be a black plastic material. Is there a way to repair this short of replacing the entire radiator? I was thinking of trying PVC plumbing pipe and cement ... but not sure if it will withstand the heat and presssure. Any thoughts, suggestions would be appreciated.
