I have a 740 Non-Turbo GLE Wagon that has an annoying problem. When the car is cold (I live in Minnesota, USA) the turn signal relay clicks (Sounds like chattering teeth). The colder it is, the faster it clicks. As the cab warms up, the clicking slows and eventually, goes away. Any guesses to the cause? Fortunately, the clicking does not activate the signal lamps.
Note that when I activate the turn signal, the clicking is replaced by the normal rythem of the turn signal. Also, I was having intermittant turn signal failure. I popped the relay, resoldered the connections, and voila, problem solved, however, I was having the clicking problem before I re-soldered the relay.
Lastly, the Tachometer doesn't work until the cab warms up as well. Connected?
Thanks in advance.
