I finally got around to putting the roller rocker arms onto my PV's 2.2 liter B20 engine this weekend. I wasn't sure how much of a difference they would make - their 1.6:1 leverage ratio imparts a little more lift than do the original 1.45 - 1.5:1 rockers.
After about 40 minutes of installation time (25 of which were letting the silicone sealer dry) I started it up. I had to open the idle adjustment very slightly. My guess is with greater valve openings there is a little less velocity at idle, so a little less dynamic loading? Took it for a test drive and found a little sharper response to throttle tip-in, and just a touch more power throughout the rpm range. It didn't really seem to raise the powerband's RMP range (D grind cam), just added a little bit more power all along. The exhaust sounds slightly different somehow, perhaps a touch softer?
