control arm bushing, right side 200 1988

I replaced my driver's side control arm bushings, and when I looked over to the passenger's side, I noticed that the exhaust pipe was right next to it, getting in the way of where you would put the wrench to tighten the rear (I think) bushing under load. It was a tight squeeze for the one that I did to get the wrench in there and move the bolt around. But I can't see how I'm going to fit the wrench in on the other side because of that exhaust pipe. Has anybody come across that same issue, and if so what is the fix?
