control arm bushing, right side 200 1988

I did this job a few months ago, and I see what you mean. However I did find with the right combination of socket and extension it was just possible.
I suppose it may depend on the exhaust pipe make - if the worst comes to the worst you might have to remove the pipe.
You can of course remove the mounting bracket complete with control arm - retightening is much easier than releasing.
