I'm going to install a new crank pulley when I do my (200k) timing belt change in a few weeks.
In the interest of saving money I'm considering using the Scan Tech pulley instead of an OE one. I understand that I may have to do a little filing of the casting so that the counterhold tool will fit. I can deal with that.
Other than that is there any reason I should stay away from this thing? Or should I just pay three times the amount for a Volvo one that'll last another 200k?
It's been my experience that aftermarket parts with rubber in them are usually inferior... but I can't see spending $175 on a damn pulley.
Thanks.
