Problem starting 700 1987

I JUST BOUGHT A 1987 740 VERY CHEAP. It will not start and i have not had a chance to look into that yet. Where would be a good starting point?? Could the timing belt be broke?? I believe this is a non interference engine in a 1987, am i correct?? Could this be a bad coil or switch??
