Hello, my 85 740 N/A seems to hate the cold weather. It's now about -20 C. where I live. The car turns over just fine but only intermittently catches , without the satisfaction of a start. Now, I know plugging it in will help, but I am without a power outlet...as far as ignition tune-up goes, new wires, cap, rotor, working coil, power stage works, volt. regulator was visually checked and looked O.K..
The fuel side seems to have run great so far, although I don't hear the pump turning, I'll assume that it is, since the car has run great for 15,000kms or so. It's never made a lot of noise that I can hear.I understand from the FAQ that they are supposed to be fairly audible, but my hearings allright and I've never really been able to pick it up.
My real question is, anyone got any cold start tricks up their sleeves?????
I know from experience that these engines will start no problem at these and colder tempatures, without the aid of the block heater. All a matter of tuning, I suppose.
Advice greatly appreciated. Josh
