Gear wrenches. Worth it?

They're like ratcheting box wrenches, but not like the old lunky thick, wide versions of old, good for little else than side-terminal battery posts. They look sleek, shiny and a whole lot slimmer, as well as kinda pricey.

Question one is, have they been useful to anyone? Then, B, are they made by anyone in stubby versions?
