I bought a set of 7 wrenches, from Sears in metric sizes. These have proven more and more useful. The largest is 19mm and the smallest is 10mm. I'd like an 8mm to work on the dizzy cap on my 940 and to adjust the alternator and other belt tensioners. A single wrench is about $16 and the set on sale was $49.00 (gulp!!) The Sears wrenches are ratchet on one end and open end on the other, same size for both ends. One of my sons was given a great set which has all ratchet ends and each end is different. Instead of the little lever on the ratchet for changing from loosening to tightening, you just lift off the wrench and turn it over. The drawback to this design is that you lose the angle offset the Sears wrenches have. I'm sorry but I can't recall the brand of my son's wrenches. I haven't found out where they came from.
I have a set of the thicker, more clunky, SAE, offset, ratchets and seldom use them. This may be because only my old Dodge pickup is an SAE vehicle but I really don't care for those wrenches.
Just an aside, I bought a set of 3 ratchet handles, 1/2, 3/8, and 1/4 inch drive with folding handles on sale at Harbor freight for about $6.00. These have stubby handles which can fold to allow you to use them in tight spots, (Read rear AC compressor bolt here). These cheapies have proven to be very useful and a good buy.
