Thanks to all who pointed out that the brake light switch might not activate without a good deal of pressure on the brake pedal. Now it becomes clear why a couple of folks almost inadvertantly made aquaintance with my rear bumper -- and it also explains the daggers in thier eyes when I glanced back to see what the squealing rubber behind me was all about.
Seriously though, this is a terrible hazard driving around without a proper brake light system. In a previous thread a mechanical brake light switch was mentioned to replace and/or supplement the 122 and 1800 pressure switches. Any elaboration on the subject would be most welcome.
Thanks,
Joe Menacker
