A mechanical switch might not work so well on a PV. All of the mechanism sits outside in the moisture and grit and a switch would probably quickly jam or wear out. Those 122/1800 retrofits work because the pedal pivots and switch are all inside. Just get another hydraulic switch. And do something to brighten up the reflectors in those tail lights. I used some aluminum foil shiny side out and it made them a lot brighter.
