Flooding problem 200 1980

Hey everyone i have been trying to get my 1980 242GT to run over the past year and have been quite unsucessful. The motor will start but it will not idle and dies very easily unless u keep the gas on. I know that it is flooding itself because i can smell a ton of unburnt gas after i have had it running for a bit and the trottle body has actually started to accumulate a significant amount of unburnt gas inside. I believe the electricals are in good condition, what i suspect is the fuel distributor, i think the pin is stuck. If anyone has any ideas as to what i could check it would be a lot of help. Thanks

Jon
