122 steering wheel removal technique? 120-130

I was trying to free a steering wheel from the grooved teath of it's seat to come off the end of the column today and it just wouldn't budge. I couldn't figure out how to apply any leverage or anything to make it come free. The bolt was taken off the end of course, but I just couldn't get it to budge. Does anybody have any favored techniques for getting these to come off without damaging anything else!?
