kjet-gurus for b23e

hi,

i have an all mechanical k-jet system on a b23e 1983 240gl with no o2 sensor nor ecu. i really need some help in order to set my base idle. i just keep playing around with 1) the black idle control screw 2) the throttle plate adjuster screw and 3) the mixture screw on the air-fuel component.

i would really like some advice in relation to how i could adjust my base idle myself without the need to pay $85. i am a student with limited funds but if necessary i will pay for this if all else fails.

the car is electrically OK and vacuum leak OK. even the fuel injector seals were replaced by me 2 days ago. the car is hunting at idle and although i can level it out this tends to occur at 1200rpms in N. the base settings are 950+/- 50 idle mixture and 750rpms ignition timing.

last tune up was about 1 year agon now but this is the only thing neglected on my regular servicing.

any help would be much appreciated.

thanks,
chez
