I close to buying an Alpine CD player for my '88 240. I have gone to two different shops looking at the same product. One shop wants to use a wireing harness kit and crimps? The other shop wants to soder the wires togeather. I think the later was done on my last stereo. I can't tell weather that was good or not, because the radio I have if terrible. If I keep sodering wires for radio's every seven to ten years, will I eventually have problems, as most radios don't seem to last that long.

PS. has anyone used and liked/not liked alpine decks?
