timing marks 700 1989

I have a 1989 745 b230 that has a broken timing belt. I have every thing apart
and have found two alingment marks on thetiming belt cover for the cam and intermediate sprokets. When the belt broke it chewed some material off the ribs on the bearing seal casting behind the crankshaft and I am not sure what I should be lining the crank sproket up to. I think it may be the rib to the left
of 12:00 position but I am not sure. Any help would be grealy appreciated.
