Remotes for looking and electric starting problem 700 1989

Have a 760 with I believe remote looking system installed. I don't have any remotes for it.
First how do I check if I have the remote looking system? Is the main box to the left behind the glove box as on 850?
I have a remote system from a 850, the box and 2 remotes. Would the remotes work in the 760? If so how do I program them? I know on the 850 you put the igintion in stage 2 5 times and then hit the remote key.

Next problem is that sometimes when I start my 760 it start in a midlevel kinda.
The engine starts, but I don't get power to the stereo and the overdrive arrow is light up. When I try to shift it sounds like a belt is slipping.
I assume that it is some kind of electric problem, but can't figure out what.
