Remotes for looking and electric starting problem 700 1989

The thing is that on my passager dash speaker cover sits a black plastic peice with a light in it. Just like the alarm and remote system in my 850. Wires is hooked up to it and all that why I asking this.
I read the FAQ about adding a remore system.
Volvo had remote systems installed long before -95. Had friends that have -90 740 with stock remote systems.

Ignition switch. I have to take a look at that then.
