I HAVE HAD A LONG ON-GOING PROBLEM WITH MY 1990 240DL STALLING OUT AFTER A RUN OF ABOUT 30MIN TO AN HOUR. IT IS THEN VERY HARD TO GET IT STARTED AND I USUALLY HAVE TO WAIT FOR ABOUT AN HOUR BEFROE IT WILL START AGIAN BUT ONLY TO STALL OUT. TODAY IT WOULD START BUT STALL JUST AS I PUT IT INTO REVERSE OR DRIVE.
I HAVE REPALCED BOTH FUEL PUMPS, FUEL RELAY, INJECTOR CONTROL MODUAL AND JUST TODAY I PUT IN ANOTHER ECU #0280000951. I CHECKED THE CODES RIGHT AFTER THE STALL TODAY AND FOUND THAT THE ECU WAS FINE BUT THE DIGANOSTIC FOR THE IGNITION SHOWS A CODE OF 214. MY BOOK SHOWS THAT AS A BAD SPEED SENDER OR THAT THE SIGNAL IS MISSING. COULD THIS BE MY PROBLEM?? OR COULD IT BE THE ENGINE CONTROL MODUAL??
I AM READY TO GIVE UP ON THIS BUT I KNOW I AM VERY CLOSE TO SOLVOING IT AND I NEED EVERYONES HELP BECAUSE I AM AT THE END OF THE ROPE.
