122 windshield removal and installation 120-130 1966

Ok--I'm about to have an autoglass place remove my (good) front and rear windshields before I have bodywork and a paintjob done, and then afterward reinstall these same windows with new rubber seals (the old ones are shot and cracked, causing one rust hole on the body flange under the rear window's aluminum trim). The thing is, I talked to two autoglass places--the first flat out refused to do it (isn't this what they do??), and the second place is leery about breaking the glass in the process of removal but is willing to take a look at it/stab at it. I'm coming to them armed with the step-by-step instructions about installation from Phil Singher's VClassics archive article in case they need some reference, but I'm curious if anyone has any advice or tips to offer them on the removal process or anything else on the installation. Someone else told me that a couple yrs ago this place installed his 122's front windshield, but it leaked and they had to redo it (I forgot to ask him what they did wrong). So any tips, sage advice, or d'ya really think I should say to heck with it and try it myself...? (leery myself about this last option as wintry unpredictable weather is threatening, the body shop is pressing me to get it to them soon, and my time is limited as I'm doing all my work around my infant's erratic naptimes...)
