This frame that supports the body of these cars. They are hollow and condense moisture on the interior. When these rust, is the damage done from both the inside out and the outside in? The question is ,would it make sense to fill the interior of these beams with an expanding foam in order to eliminate air/moisture contact with the metal? You could examine the interior with a fiberoptic scope to identify areas that would need repair first, then fill the whole assembly with foam.
With the warm temperature in NY the last couple of days moisture is condensing on the undercarraige of the car. Looking into the frame there is condensate inside clinging to the walls. It doesn't look like any protection is on the inside of these beams. Anybody see any disadvantages to this idea?
