Ben and I made a trip up to Hutchinson, Kansas to visit Mark Richardson and
his RUNNING D-jet 72 142E today, bearing a box of 4 computers and 7 MAPSensors.
It took less than an hour and a half to try all of them out and we found some
interesting things. We had ONE dud computer and ONE dud MAPSensor but in every
iteration trying to get the Yellow Peril going, we had had either the dud
MAPSensor OR the dud Computer in the system.
They are all duly marked now and I think we will get back onto the Yellow Peril
next week expecting great things. Got plenty freeze plugs to replace the one
that came out, and nearly everything else is done. (Wish I had brushed up and
painted the new master cylinder before we put it on, though. It got purty rusty during the cold and wet.)
Mark was most hospitable and helpful, a hale fellow well-met. He's so tall I
had to reach up to shake his hand though. After we got done we hustled downtown
and got some fine Mexican food to fortify us on our trip back. (Had to stop for
coffee in Wichita to make sure I stayed awake till I got home! So much for
driving in Kansas during siesta time!)
So we are enthused and ready to hit it again. Keep tuned - we'll report.
