In January I posted a question about fuel gauge wiring because I thought that, in the process of trying to fix a noisy speedometer, I might have mixed up its wiring. I checked the wiring today, and it is correct - brown to one contact and five red wires to the other. Oil and amp lights come on when I turn the switch. My fuel sender is relatively new (3 yrs). With ignition on, I get about 7 v. testing from fuel sender contact to ground on a tank hold-down screw. However, I don't seem to get current at the brown wire connection on the gauge itself. What else can I do to find out where the problem lies before I pull the whole cluster again to see if I damaged the gauge itself while I had it out the last time? The gauge worked fine before I messed with the cluster. Any and all pointers will be much appreciated.
