Oil Recommendations S90-V90 1996

Have a 96 960 that I purchased in Jan with 70,100 miles. It's now oil change time. I live in El Paso, TX where it is seldome below 30 degrees and often above 100 degrees (from May though Aug). If I use the chart in my owners mag, it looks like 15w/40 would be best (I believe it's rated for 20 degrees-...) or 5w/40. I will use synthetic with a Mann filter (and filter magnet) and will change the filter in 1000 miles (I'm currently running dyno oil). Any recommendations?
