Oil Recommendations S90-V90 1996

I am using Mobil 1 5w40 with 5k mile oil changes. Its a very robust diesel rated oil. In the past I have also used Chevron Delo 400 15w40. This is a much cheaper diesel rated non synthetic. I prefer the synthetic 5w40 for cold starts. But think these are the 2 best options out there. Stay away from some of the pseudo synthetics like Castrol and Halvoline.
