Good day bricksters -

I'm getting ready to swap out an engine from an '89 brick I just bought (not running) but the the Bentley manual suggest taking out the engine and tranny assembly and then separating the two. Is this necessary or can I just hoist out the engine without taking the tranny out? Any special precautions I should take?
