960 Wagon in the Snow S90-V90

The V90 is a great handling car with almost 50/50 weight distribution. Here in the Boston area I end up driving on dry roads a lot of the time. I HATED the Blizzaks that came with the car for acting like mush was between the wheels and the road destroying the car's handling. I ended up with Michelin Pilot Alpins. Not the best rated snows but work real good on the dry and are acceptable in the snow. In slippery conditions, the "W" setting on the transmission does a good job of taming all the torque available in this car.

What I did was get the 195/65-15 size for use on the standard wagon wheels and got a set of 16" wheels with real summer tires for the other 3 seasons. The best of two worlds.

Narrow treads cut through the snow best. Higher profile tires survive pot holes better.
