I'm going to presume that you changed the timing belt while you were at it...
if so, did you use an OEM VOLVO timing belt?

If not, I am going to suggest that even if you squinted your eyes and carefully compared the old belt to the new replacement belt --- tooth by tooth --- making sure that they were identical, perfect match: in my experience you should buy a VOLVO belt and that might be all that is wrong with this picture.

My guess is that YOU did everything RIGHT but used an "aftermarket belt." Probably cost $19.95 instead of "whatever"... $39.95???

This is one of those annoying "been there/done that" "when is a bargain not a bargain" situations that can reduce a sane man to tears. I suggest that OEM from the dealer is the way to go when it comes to timing belts.
