86 engine into 89 700

Thanks all for the tips. Jeff, the 86 is a ZF. I think the 89 may be a AW, I can't see a plate on the side like the ZF and it looks to be different. Both cars are NA. I had thought of using the 86 tranny because it has only 100 K and the 89 has 200 K, some of it apparently abusive. I will probably go with the AW, especially since I see a Hall sensor on it that the ZF doesn't have. This will also give me the chance to change the rear main seal which doesn't leak now but I sure it will if I don't change it. I plan on sticking with the 89 harness/ecu as the 86 has a the self destructing harness issue. THe only thing I'm not sure of now is are the distributors different-interchangable.
