Coasting 900 1993

When driving my 93 940 (179K) at highway speeds I notice that when I let off of the accelerator pedal I feel the engine slightly braking the vehicle speed instead of coasting. The transmission is in the highest gear when this happens so I do not think it is a transmission problem.
I have a feeling this is related to the throttle switch and/or the idle air valve neither of which has ever been replaced.
Any advice and or report on similar experiences on this phenomenon would be appreciated.
