delay in drive take up on 760 gle auto transmission 700

Running a 1989 760 gle,with I presume the aw71 transmission.The car as done 133k.
I have had the car maybe a year now,and have just started noticing when pulling away a slight delay in drive take up.It isnt always there, but it can be irritating if your trying to pull out of a busy junction.
I replaced the fluid but didnt do a flush when I first got the car.Would a full flush as in the faqs sort this out, or is the transmission developing other troubles?
