Performance springs for 544/444? 444-544

Hello again. I know that there has been some discussion of this in the past, but I thought that I might bring up the topic again.

I am looking to replace my original springs with something stiffer but which keep the original height (or even raise the rear by about half an inch). I have been emailing various vintage volvo suppliers and vendors, and currently there are no readily available options for me. However, I thought that you might be interested to hear that people interested in a performance lowering spring may finally have some options on the horizon.

Skandix hopes to release their springs to the public sometime within the next year (they anticipate that it will take at least 6 months though). My guess is that these will follow the typical 1" lower and 20% stiffer model.

Also, John Parker, of Vintage Performance Developments, has told me that he would be interested in having some made if there were sufficient demand. He is willing to go with whatever spring rate and height is presented to him, but he would need a concensus.

"As I have said recently to other 444/544 owners, tell me which springs and
give me the names and email addresses of approx. 15 owners who want them and
I'll have a batch of them ready in early 2006."

I am sure that there are a lot of 544 and 444 owners who would be interested in replacement springs, but we would have to actually organize people so that we could guarantee a customer base for the product.

With this in mind, what sort of springs would you guys like to see available for the 544/444? Something slightly lower, stiffer, and progressive? Something slightly lower, stiffer, and linear? Something that keeps the stock ride height, is slightly stiffer, and progressive? Something that keeps the stock ride height, is slightly stiffer, and linear? Something that keeps the stock ride height and rate, but which is progressive?

Perhaps if there is enough agreement, we could organize a group buy with VPD.

Also, on a related note, does anyone know what the spring rates of the original springs are?
