164 FAQ? 140-160 1975

Dan,
If there is no rust, $2200 is a good buy. The B30f 6 cylinder is electronically fuel injected and the engine is unique to the 160's. 240s had 4 cyl and later had the V6. Some parts are hard to get after 30 years. I swapped seats with a 1991 240 because the leather in mine was dry rotted.
I am about to replace the ECT, my gas milage is about 14 on the highway.
The front half of the car is a 240 with metric nuts and bolts, the back half is a 140 with SAE fittings. It is still easy to work on and the B30F is almost indestructable. The auto tranny (BW35) is only a 3 speed and is a weak spot on this car, there is no overdrive.
My previous owner made a mess of the electrical wiring in the inside of my car, so check the fuses for correct voltage. Ask if the AC has been converted to R134a or if it is still R12.

Good luck,
Klaus
